Tower Bridge

London landmark and events venue, Tower Bridge has recently hosted a free wedding for one lucky couple, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Love was definitely in the SE1 air, as Tower Bridge welcomed the winning couple of their ‘Wedding Giveaway’ to the historic Grade I listed building for a wedding ceremony, photo-shoot and champagne and canapé reception. The newlyweds and winners of the competition, John Paul and Antonio were joined in marriage in front of a total of 45 close friends and family, after submitting the winning entry to the competition via social media.

Seasoned, the on-site venue management and events team, began the free wedding campaign by asking members of the public to submit a brief story as to why they think they deserved the complimentary wedding via email or on social media, using the hashtag (#TowerBridgeWeddings); Seasoned reported that they received a copious amount of entries, with many couples vying for a chance to marry in the Heritage Site, but one entry caught the eye of both Seasoned and Tower Bridge. John Paul’s touching story of finding “love at first sight” with Antonio, sharing a mutual love of engineering and then moving to London to be together, to witness the famous engineering of the city was enough to see the couple win the wedding day of their dreams.

Commenting on the wedding, newlywed John Paul said:  “Antonio, myself, our family and friends would like to say a big thank you to the Seasoned team and everyone involved, for making our special day a wonderful occasion! The whole day was perfect from beginning to end.”

“This is a day we’ll never forget and the both of us still can’t believe that we were chosen over all of the other lovely couples. It’s an amazing feeling to win and marry in a venue that we both have such an affinity towards.”

Tower Bridge’s historic North Tower Lounge, featuring floor to ceiling windows and picturesque views over London was the chosen setting of the wedding, with Seasoned and their generous team of suppliers providing a completely complimentary package exceeding £10,000, which included catering and venue hire from Seasoned and Tower Bridge, venue styling and furniture from The Event Hire Company, wedding photography from Gomes Photography, decoration and flowers from Amie Bone Flowers, a live harpist from entertainment specialist Sternberg Clarke and linen from Just 4 Linen.

Aileen Duffy, Event Sales Manager for Seasoned at Tower Bridge commented: “It was an honour to host John Paul, Antonio and their family and friends at Tower Bridge! After nearly half a year of planning we finally reached the big day and it couldn’t have gone any better.”

“Witnessing the heart-warming ceremony was incredibly moving and was made even better knowing that we [Seasoned] and our suppliers could help bring this lovely couple together for a wedding day they’ve always dreamt of. We wish both Antonio and John Paul a long and happy relationship together!”
