The Understudy at the National Theatre celebrates 5 years of craft beer on the South Bank

The National Theatre’s craft beer bar The Understudy is celebrating its 5th birthday with a beer-filled bash featuring some of the world’s best and most exclusive brews from the likes of The Kernel, Omnipollo, Augustiner and De Ranke to name but a few.

They’ll be pouring a killer list of favourite beers from years gone by selected by The Understudy team, past and present. From porters to pale ales and everything in between, all beers on the night will be sold at £5 meaning you can try some absolute crackers at a bargain price. Burgerworks will be on hand to provide a much-needed carb fix between beers, think dirty burgers (including vegan), bacon mac ‘n’ cheese fritters and fried pickles. Resident Zilla Nights DJs will provide the party soundtrack, with old school African beats bringing the sunshine of the tropics to the South Bank, no matter what your weather app is telling you.

Entry is free, food and drink are pay as you go.

The National Theatre has an array of spaces including foyers, restaurants, private rooms and outdoor terraces available for all types of event hire from product launches and small business meetings ot lavish receptions and private dinners.
