Urban Caprice

Wednesday, February 1, 2017 - 16:00

For the third consecutive year, Urban Caprice were thrilled to be appointed by The Events Mill to support the War Child Winter Wassail held at the Royal Horticultural Halls. Carey Mulligan, ambassador for War Child hosted the dinner for 250 guests alongside her husband Marcus Mumford.

Urban Caprice collaborated with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and Gill Mellor to create a menu true to their nose to tail eating ethos along with seasonal and responsibly sourced produce. The three course dinner was provided by one of River Cottage’s steers. Steak tartare was presented on the cleaned shin bone, while vegetarian pumpkin croquettes satisfied the less adventurous. Main course showed off various cuts of meat - from shin, tongue and tail ravioli to seared sirloin and ribeye steak. Last, but not least, rounding off the dinner was sage and brown sugar poached apples with a bone marrow ice cream. After dinner, Disaronno espresso martinis got the party started whilst guests silently raised £2m for the charity.
