Urban Caprice

Monday, November 27, 2017 - 15:45
Urban Caprice were thrilled to cater for this year’s awards dinner to announce the winners of The Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum.

The Hinzte Hall looked spectacular with Hope the Whale the crowning glory. We took inspiration from nature and used earthy coloured linens to reflect the colour palettes found in the photography on display, with wild fruit and vegetable centrepieces created by Mary Jane Vaughan Design in Flowers completing the look.

Guests feasted on some of Urban Caprice’s signature dishes, including ginger poached lobster with kohlrabi and grilled fennel, followed by a main course of venison, smoked beetroot and onion purée, celeriac and honey roasted heritage root vegetables.

After the awards, guests were invited to the first viewing of the photographic exhibition, whilst grazing from a woodland inspired interactive dessert station. Urban Caprice created an 24ft long moss-covered masterpiece, complete with growing carrot cake, Amaretto peach stones, mini cherry cheesecakes and edible chocolate bark that guests were encouraged to break using mini hammers.

The following evening, Urban Caprice returned to the NHM to transform Fossil Way for the sponsors reception. We recreated the 24ft long nature inspired food station, and suspended bark canape trays from the trees offering an array of savoury canapés. Mini mushroom macaroons, and the black and white truffle arancini were firm favourites, whilst guests sipped on colourful winter cocktails including a fig Collins and blackberry mojito.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is open until 20th May 2018.
