Monday 13 March saw Unique Venues of London host a suppliers workshop at the Science Museum to showcase a selection of different suppliers that work across its member venues.
The afternoon presented the opportunity for caterers, florists, event production and entertainment providers to engage with around 100 venue managers. Exhibitors included: The Admirable Crichton, Fizz, Food by Dish, Zafferano, Hayford & Rhodes, Lavender Green Flowers, Pinstripes & Peonies, Sound by Design, White Light, Wise Productions, Prelude Entertainment, Sternberg Clarke and Young Guns.
Some of London’s leading event caterers provided delicious treats for guests. Food by Dish showcased an array of nutritional dishes such as smoked mackerel with apple, fennel and seaweed and sugar-free beetroot brownie. The Admirable Crichton created a macaron bar with a savoury twist featuring flavours such as: Tomato, basil and feta served on edible olive soil and cauliflower and English mustard. Zafferano created a bespoke canapé & cocktail menu which worked with the top note; heart note & base note of a new luxury brand fragrance. While, Fizz focused on the demand for more local, organic and carbon neutral produce. Visitors to the stand were invited to sample venison, salmon and duck prepared in a Kent based traditional Smokery, while carbon neutral Kentish cheeses including a smoked cheddar were presented in a traditional British picnic.
Florists provided a colourful and stunning backdrop, demonstrating what can be achieved with flowers. Pinstripes and Peonies took the opportunity to showcase what is possible in a unique venue by welcoming members into an infinity room. The free-standing mirror panels were filled with LED lanterns and two urns filled with tulips, roses, ranunculus, mimosa and seasonal foliage created a spring feel. Lavender Green Flowers encouraged guests to get involved in creating their own floral display, by choosing from beautiful Gerbera, Cool Water Roses, Carnations and Succulents to three giant sculptured letters, which spelt UVL, producing a stunning floral work of art. Hayford & Rhodes showcased the trend of ‘bringing the outside in’, by asking members to help dress a gazebo structure inside the venue with soft florals.
Sternberg Clarke kicked off the entertainment with Billy George, the UK's leading Roue Cyr Wheel artist. Followed by Young Guns with its acoustic and electric violin duo, Stereo Twins, performing popular classics. Prelude Entertainment introduced its newest act The JM Roaming Quartet who performed a rendition of Robbie William’s Rock DJ and Drakes One Dance.
Technical solutions and event production were showcased by White Light, Sound by Design and Wise Productions, all exhibiting their bespoke event services of lighting, sound and set design.
Further suppliers joined the member venues for a networking drinks reception kindly provided by Food by Dish, in one of the Science Museum’s newest event spaces Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery, where guests were able to enjoy a range of interactive exhibits including the Infinity Mirror and experience the friction slides.
