Wellcome Collection shortlisted for London Venue Awards in recognition of sustainability efforts

Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 12:00

Wellcome Collection has been shortlisted for The London Venue Awards, one of the most important and recognised awards in the events industry.

For the venue, being shortlisted is recognition of their efforts which have spanned reducing their Co2 emissions by 7.7 tonnes over two years, implementing a tracked food waste system in their kitchens and all of their water bottles are filled on site in reusable glass bottles. Additionally, all non-recyclable waste is sent to be converted into energy. This, combined with their zero waste to landfill work, are only a few their initiatives.

Wellcome Collection aims to challenge how we all think and feel about health. Since launching over a decade ago they have become one of London’s most exciting venues due to their innovation and dedication to sustainability and CSR.

The venue has seen an increase in the number of clients requesting sustainable venues that produce low waste impact and no plastic or disposables, and they also work with some regular clients to help minimise their food waste.

Wellcome Collection are located in the heart of London and have a conference centre with rooms for up to 100 people, and auditorium for 154 people, exhibition galleries for up to 200 people, plus a blank canvas --the Atrium--which can accommodate up to 390 people for a drinks reception.
