By Word of Mouth and Sir John Soane’s Museum celebrated the onset of the Autumn Winter season by co-hosting a hugely successful ‘Evening of Regency Elegance’ in October.
The combination of By Word of Mouth’s exquisite new season’s canapes, Simon Lycett’s breath-taking floral arrangements and the treasure-filled, rooms at the Museum created an unforgettable evening for over 100 guests, several experiencing this magical space for the first time.
To ensure that the guests received the full ‘Sir John Soane’s’ experience, they were treated to tours from the Museum’s expert curators who brought many of the building’s treasured displays to life with their detailed and illuminating descriptions. The tours ended in the Library-Dining Room where guests were greeted by glowing candle light and the sight of a fully laid dining table adorned with Simon Lycett’s incredible floral artistry – a stunning finale to a very successful and enjoyable evening.
Highlights from the canape menu created for the evening were seared scallops with Irish black pudding, apple-cranberry puree and pink peppercorn dust, mushroom crusted fillet of beef on celeriac confit with stilton creamed leeks and a very moreish roasted leek tarte tatin with pumpkin, Rosary goat’s cheese and pumpkin seed crumble.
