By Word of Mouth had the honour of providing the catering for Historic Royal Palaces’ annual showcase dinner at the Tower of London earlier on in February.

Working with the theme ‘Tradition Retold’, our brief was to show the Tower in a new light and to demonstrate how a contemporary theme could work within this historic building.

The menu for dinner was the perfect balance of seasonal flavours and eye catching presentation.  From the exquisite ‘Glass Garden’ of tiny vegetables planted in truffled cauliflower to the stunning plate of miniature apple puddings and brightly coloured marshmallow petits fours, the food worked seamlessly with the look of the evening whilst being true to our ethos for producing forward-thinking dishes packed with flavour.

To create the look for dinner, crisp, white taffeta cloths from Over the Top Rentals provided the perfect backdrop to Simon Lycett’s jaw-dropping neon coloured florals with Cutture’s perspex graffiti table numbers adding a touch of ‘street art’ style.
