1 Unique year

Thursday, December 15, 2016 - 17:15

2016 was both an exciting and positive year for Unique Venues of London. In addition to growing our membership to 86, we also maintained our position as a thought leader within the heritage, landmark and unusual venues sector. Here are a few of the highlights:

New members: We were delighted to grow our membership considerably over the last year, welcoming an array of historic masterpieces and modern landmarks including: National Gallery, British Library, Two Temple Place, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, Sky Garden, RSA House and ArcelorMittal Orbit. Now at 86 we are strongly positioned to meet both the opportunities and challenges 2017 has to offer. To find out more about these venues and our other members click here.

Unique Insight London: In January we launched the inaugural Unique Insight London at the Museum of London. The evening was designed to reflect the added-value ethos of the association combining dynamic content with sophisticated entertainment, giving members, corporates and agents something inspiring to take away from the evening. The key theme for the evening was the topical subject of return on investment (ROI) and, ably assisted by expert panellists and speakers, we were able to dig down into this highly relevant topic, now even more important following the seismic events of 2016! Out and about: We gave been prolific throughout 2016, exhibiting at a number of key trade shows including International Confex and BNC Global Events Show. This year also marked the first time we ventured stateside for IMEX America to showcase our members to event organiser from across the USA and further afield, proudly promoting London as a go-to destination for business tourists. For the occasion we also designed a brand new brochure which gives potential bookers a concise overview and immediate access to our membership. To find out more click here.

We have a winner! – Throughout November and December we conducted an exclusive competition to win a Unique Hamper of London. We called out to our diverse membership to submit gifts which they felt best reflected their venue but also the wider work and approach of Unique Venues of London. The winner, Chantal Kerr-Sheppard, event manager at Which? was announced on 8th December 2016, and has received this special, unique prize. The perfect way to start the festive season!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support. We hope you have a very merry Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2017.
