Unique Venues of London announces two new members to the association: 10-11 Carlton House Terrace and Sky Garden, bringing the total membership to 86.
10-11 Carlton House Terrace is the home of the British Academy. Originally constructed during the late 1820s and early 1830s in a Roman-classical styled by celebrated British architect John Nash. The elegant building combines a prominent view of St. James’s Park with the light, high-ceilinged rooms synonymous with Nash’s signature style. Formerly one of London’s most fashionable addresses, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace was damaged during WWII before being restored to its original grandeur by Viscount Ridley.
Situated in the iconic domed roof of 20 Fenchurch, Sky Garden spans three storeys and boasts London’s highest landscaped public gardens. Offering beautiful events spaces with unrivalled panoramic views across the city, this striking venue is managed by rhubarb. Sky Garden is available for private hire and is an unusual and highly-original setting for any event.
Each venue was assessed through Unique Venues of London’s rigorous joining process, which includes complete financial declarations and a series of ‘secret shopper’ visits to prospective members before a final presentation and subsequent vote from existing members.
