Meet the Team

Tuesday, June 29, 2021 - 11:45

When was the last time you caught up with your team other than the weekly or daily online meetings? If you haven't returned to the office yet but feel it would be good to meet your team, our venues have a variety of inspirational ways to catch up with ease. For example, experience a fascinating exhibition tour together, enjoy an exciting treasure hunt through acres of extensive grounds, arrange a meeting in a memorable space, plan a summer gathering before the autumn or attend a night out and unwind with a candlelight concert. There are lots of different activities the team can enjoy and stay connected through Unique Venues of London.

the Design Museum

Digital-zoom-skype-teams fatigue setting in?

Why not break up your screen time and book your team onto one of the Design Museum’s exhibition tour packages?

June sees the opening of the ‘Charlotte Perriand: The Modern Life’ exhibition, so what perfect time to learn more about the design pioneer herself, whilst catching up with colleagues within the Design Museum’s iconic four walls! Why not combine a tour with lunch in the Chumsri & Luqman Lounge to kickstart the week and reconnect after a year of being apart!

Online workshops and exhibition tours also available for ‘Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street’, as well as a range of engaging design workshops taught virtually to you and your team. For further information, please contact the Design Museum’s Events team - events@designmuseum.org

Harrow School

What better way to get back together with your team this summer than a treasure hunt in hundreds of acres of your own exclusive grounds. Our Harrow Explorer package offers delegates a chance to investigate their surroundings in a unique way.

This GPS challenge is a fun activity using the latest technology. Hotspots activate using GPS locations as teams explore and take part in activities. General knowledge questions can be a mixture of topics the clients are interested in from Sport to Whiskey and a live activity feed drives a competitive element. At the end of the challenge we showcase hilarious photos and videos and present medals.

If winter activities are more your style, be sure to book a corporate sitting of the Christmas Wreath Making sessions. With professional instruction, materials, bubbles and nibbles included, wreath making is a lovely mindful activity for your whole team to enjoy.

While the team at the National Gallery have been missing events, they have been busy redecorating their meeting rooms. They now have a portfolio of stunning meeting rooms which are all inspired with imagery from their most famous paintings.

Bring your team back together for a memorable day in the Monet Meeting Room, Gallen-Kallela Room and the intimate Turner Room. Flooded with natural daylight, and fully equipped with AV, step into these rooms which are close to the collection but tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

You can also get your guests on their feet with a private tour of the world renowned collection.

RIBA at 66 Portland Place

RIBA at 66 Portland Place has launched a new ‘Build Your Own’ meeting package to help simplify the organisation of a Covid-compliant face-to-face or hybrid event. Whether it’s a small-scale management meeting or a larger all-company conference, the 66 Portland Place team are on hand to help bring your team back together again.

A subtle nod to RIBA’s architectural roots, the ‘Build Your Own’ meeting package features a range of F&B options set at multiple price points to suit budget and taste, as well as a choice of fully equipped meeting rooms featuring stunning Art Deco details and all the necessary AV facilities.

Clients can opt for the venue’s purpose-built auditorium, the Jarvis Hall, for larger meetings or conferences of up to 400 guests /200 at the current 50% capacity. With full AV capabilities and top-quality acoustics, it’s perfect for AGMs, presentations, and seminars, and has the necessary technology in place to add a virtual element if required. For mid to small sized meetings there is a variety of bright and tranquil rooms to choose from.

If you’re still hoping for a last-minute summer party this year, there is some availability at 66 Portland Place for August and September if Government restrictions allow, and the team have confirmed the ‘Build Your Own’ summer party package will run again next year, giving you even more time to plan a summer party to end all summer parties!

To celebrate the summer, and hopefully restriction-free events on the horizon (fingers crossed!), the 66 Portland Place team have been back at the venue working on a special summer-themed drop. RIBA branded lolly moulds complete with specially created cocktail and mocktail recipes from catering partner CH&CO are being delivered to the doorsteps of key clients in readiness for the sun to hopefully make its return!

If you’d like to enquire about a summer party or a hybrid team meeting at 66 Portland Place, please email venues@riba.org
