Unique Venues of London showcases creativity at annual supplier’s event

Friday, March 16, 2018 - 10:00

On 12 March Unique Venues of London, the representative body of the capital’s most unique and iconic venues, hosted its second annual advertising supplier showcase to its member venues, presenting a sample of the diverse portfolio of suppliers.

The event, hosted at the iconic and elegant Royal Horticultural Halls’ Lindley Hall saw a selection of the consortium’s advertising suppliers come together to showcase their products and services. Exhibitors were able to share industry insights with over 130 professionals from the Unique Venues of London’s 87 strong membership.

Attendees were treated to a drinks reception and refreshments, courtesy of Food Show. The caterer, with over 28 years’ experience, is renowned for continually exceeding expectation and wowed members with a delicious and innovative food offering, choosing to display in the afternoon a spring-inspired, woodland themed food station.

Canapes and bowl food were served at the evening reception and included prawn sliders with brioche buns and sriracha sauce and steak frites with warm béarnaise sauce. The star of the show was the sous vide hand dived scallops marinated in kaffir lime leaf oil, roe emulsion and finished with leek ash and yuzu powder.

Other culinary delights included an edible garden and greenhouse from Moving Venue and an interactive food station from Seasoned where chefs served ‘London classics with a twist’. Party Ingredients showcased their 2018 ‘Glamping in the City’ party packages with a selection of cold canapes and sweet treats. Urban Caprice served up a unique three course dining experience using UK produce.

Each of the suppliers hosted a stand and were given the opportunity to present their unique and creative approaches to the latest trends in event design to the member venues. Highlights included a roaming band and Masques’ showpiece act from Young Guns and a musical trio from Prelude Entertainment. Private Drama showcased its event management, design and story-telling skills with a new show reel ahead of its brand relaunch and as part of their showcase, Heaps + Stacks created mini take away zen gardens.

Other suppliers included florists Pinstripes and Peonies, who demonstrated impressive bridal bouquets in a beautifully constructed ‘Ribbon Room’, allowing attendees to take in elegant floral designs in a colourful surrounding, and Lavender Green Flowers who provided a beautiful display of ferns and succulents spelling ‘UVL’, plus craft stations that allowed guests to get hands on, making flower garlands and decorating succulents.

AV and Production suppliers Fisher Productions, Light Motif, White Light and Wise Productions not only showcased their products and trends but also provided many of the stands with equipment and production services.

The member venues and exhibiting advertising suppliers were then joined by the remaining portfolio of advertising suppliers for the closing reception of this annual event.

Lisa Hatswell, Managing Director at Unique Venue of London comments: “We had a wonderful evening at Royal Horticultural Halls, showcasing not only a selection of the fantastic range of suppliers that work within many of our member venues but allowing members to experience what they might expect if they were to book them for an event this year.

“It was great to have so many professionals in one room, sharing knowledge and experience of the London events market. The showcase is always a very popular member event and the feedback we received from attendees was fantastic. We’re already looking forward to the next one and are confident this will become a vital event in the Unique Venues of London calendar.”
