The venue overlooks Regent's Park and presents an impressive portfolio of purpose-designed facilities, including: two tiered auditoriums; meeting, dining and exhibition spaces; a private Medicinal Garden for summer events; a library. The building has an atmosphere of space and light, with event spaces ranging from traditional to modern to accommodate a vast range of needs.
From the entrance of the building, the impressive split-level white Lasdun Hall is flanked on one side by two-story plate glass windows overlooking the Medicinal Garden. The squared spiral of the flying staircase leads up to the grand Dorchester Library, which houses some of the RCP's collection of over 50,000 antiquarian books and offers a perfect backdrop for drinks receptions, gala dinners and meetings. The understated elegance of the Osler Room, with its superb views over the Georgian Nash terraces and garden, can accommodate up to 300 guests for receptions, buffets and dinner parties. The Council Chamber, with its unique domed roof, curved walls and hidden circle of skylights, is an ideal setting for meetings and presentations, whilst the Censors’ Room, boasting a magnificent chandelier and Spanish oak panelling from 1674, is an intimate setting for fine dining.
The venue has recently completed a refurbishment of its largest auditorium with nature, sustainability and accessibility in mind. The Wolfson Theatre now offers a more comfortable, modern and calming environment to enhance any events.
The facilities are further enhanced by rare treasures, artefacts and antiquarian books, creating a contrast with the stylish modern architecture.
