Southbank Centre

With its central London location, riverside setting and unique cultural history, Southbank Centre is a venue for all occasions.

Situated on the south bank of the River Thames next to the popular London Eye, Southbank Centre is at the heart of a sprawling riverside arts quarter. Our wide-ranging artistic programme – classical & world music, rock & pop, jazz, dance, literature and the visual arts – attracts the most diverse audience of any UK venue.

Comprising three separate buildings - Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, and Hayward Gallery - Southbank Centre offers a number of events spaces suitable for a vast array of occasions. With a huge range of art and activities inside and outside throughout the year, we encourage everyone to become involved in the arts in new and creative ways. Every year, thousands of musicians and artists perform to millions of visitors, making this one of the most popular cultural destinations in the country.

Our beautiful, well-equipped auditoria are available for private hire; however, if it’s a smaller venue with an unforgettable setting that you are seeking, within the Royal Festival Hall building are a number of smaller events spaces, from mid-sized meeting rooms to our spacious and airy roof pavilions, which make particularly romantic wedding venues. From the grandeur of our auditoria, to the intimate surroundings of our private rooftop pavilions, our flexible spaces provide you with a vibrant meeting and entertaining space with stunning views of London and excellent transport links.  Whether you are planning an AGM or an awards ceremony, a wine tasting or a wedding, Southbank Centre has a venue for your event.

Hayward Gallery private views

2018 not only sees Hayward Gallery celebrating its 50th anniversary, but for the first time ever, the gallery is available to hire exclusively for private views.  Restored to its original appearance after two years of extensive renovations, the gallery's iconic pyramid roof lights flood the space with natural light.

For an exciting and inspiring breakfast or reception venue, Hayward Gallery is second to none. Guests can enjoy delicious catering from one of Southbank Centre’s approved caterers while admiring world-class art, in a light and airy setting.

Hayward Gallery is widely recognised for its challenging and thought-provoking exhibitions and is proud to host the first major UK retrospective of acclaimed German photographer Andreas Gursky, in January 2018.

We are pleased to offer breakfast hire on a daily basis, and lunch/dinner hire on Tuesdays.

Please contact the Southbank Centre Commercial Events Team for more details or to make an enquiry.
