Job purpose
The Head of Commercial Events is responsible for a team of three sales executives and an assistant. This team’s main objective is to generate income (currently £1.4m) from events and conference hire at 21 Albemarle Street to support the Ri’s charitable activities. This post will play a crucial role in leading the team to achieve quarterly sales targets.
The ideal candidate will display a passion for events and have a strong track record in sales and in event delivery and logistics. They will be proactive, hardworking and able to work under their own initiative. With a strong commercial mind, they must be able to identify opportunities for revenue growth and then strategically plan to deliver on these opportunities.
In this multifaceted role (involving sales strategy, financial planning and forecasting, marketing and communications and operational delivery) the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication, people management experience, customer service skills and display a high level of organisational and project management ability.
