Sales and Events Assistant - The Royal Institution of Great Britain

Accountable to: Head of Commercial Events

Location: 21 Albemarle Street, London

Contract type: Permanent, full time, 35 hours per week

Salary:  £25,924 per annum (increasing to £26,674 on passing probation)

The Royal Institution has been hosting a multitude of corporate and private events since 1800, ranging from high profile corporate dinners, drinks receptions to product launches and conferences. We provide our clients with an unforgettable, historical experience at our stunning Grade I listed venue in the heart of Mayfair. All profits support our charitable activities, enabling us to engage and inspire future generations through the wonder of science.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Sales and Events Assistant to join the team and play a key role in helping drive our venue hire business forward.  You will act as the primary contact for event planning and delivery, handling enquiries from both clients and suppliers, negotiating contract and calendar management, processing invoices and partnering with our in-house catering and audio-visual suppliers.

This is a varied, fast-paced and fun role allowing you to learn and deliver all the key stages of event management. An organised administrator, with a sound understanding of sales and excellent interpersonal skills, you will ideally have experience of working in events, be enthusiastic about delivering high-quality experiences and love exceeding customer expectations.

We are currently driving the relaunch of our venue hire business with the aim of producing around 300 events a year.
