Beautiful Rooms – Making the Modern World, Science Museum

Friday, July 15, 2022 - 11:30

Making the Modern World at the Science Museum chronicles the inventions that shaped modern society. It’s a popular venue for spectacular large-scale evening events with capacity for up to 750 guests for a drinks reception and up to 350 for dining.

Making the Modern World’s exceptional collection traces the cultural history of industrialisation from 1750 to the present day and features some of the museum’s most remarkable objects. During an event, guests can discover iconic exhibits including the Apollo 10 command module, Crick and Watson’s DNA model and the first Apple computer. Or they can muse on thought-provoking objects including a 10,000-year clock and a porcelain bowl saved from Hiroshima.

Hiring the Making the Modern World gallery means that clients can take full advantage of the in-house lighting system and lighting technician for the duration of an event. Clients can also display the latest LED technology to enhance their event and will benefit from shortened set-up times, as well as various creative lighting options.
