Did you know? The Royal Institution will celebrate its 225th Anniversary this year

Tuesday, February 20, 2024 - 11:00

The Royal Institution was formed in 1799, and has served as a place for scientists and the public to come together ever since. 225 years later, the Ri continues to host a range of speakers and events to engage the public with the latest scientific advancements, and many private events from National Geographic to intimate weddings.

Steeped in history, the Ri boasts nine different rooms available to hire. From the Writing Room, which was gifted to the Ri by chemist Ludwig Mond in 1894, to the Theatre in which groundbreaking research and discoveries have been debuted to the public for over 200 years. From the first announcement of the existence of photography, the discovery of the electron, and of course Faraday’s electric motor, the Theatre is the perfect location for your conference or event to help us continue the Ri’s heritage for a further 225 years.

With the room hire fees from venue hire going directly back into supporting the Ri’s charitable aims, hosting your event helps to ensure another 225 years of science engagement.
