Paul Costelloe to Open 40th Anniversary of London Fashion Week at The Lindley Hall

Tuesday, February 6, 2024 - 16:30

Irish American fashion designer Paul Costelloe will open the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week with his Autumn Winter ‘24 collection inspired by his experiences of New York living.

With London Fashion Week starting in 1984, Costelloe is the longest-standing fashion show designer, with over 76 runway shows under his belt. He returns to the Royal Horticultural Halls’ Lindley Hall in Westminster for a second time, having shown his Spring Summer ‘24 collection in September last year.

Costelloe commented “The Lindley Hall has this perfect beguiling nature. Whilst it has glorious natural light which worked so well for my summer collection, it can also be shuttered creating a shadowy atmosphere which will work perfectly for my new collection.”

Paul continued saying “It is such a privilege to be still part of London Fashion Week and to be able to express myself through material and form with my London based team. Thank you, London!”

The AW24 collection is a trip down memory lane from Paul’s New York life in his early 20’s during the 60’s and 70’s. Living on the Upper East Side, he loved the New York way of life, the sights, sounds and culture that New Yorkers embodied. He met Andy Warhol, who invited him to be in one of his films and experienced the decadence of Studio 54.

The collection stylistically echoes the film ‘Once Upon a time in America’ brought into the modern day, featuring great tailoring, winter whites and muted dark tones.

Paul Costelloe’s show is strictly by invitation only at 9am on Friday 16th February.
