Paul Costelloe wows London with his ‘Once Upon A Time’ Collection at the Lindley Hall

Paul Costelloe’s Autumn Winter ‘24 collection opened the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week with bold tailoring and voluminous shapes in winter whites, rich tweeds and statement plaids.

The scene was set as the Lower East Side in New York with bustling streets, noisy cabs and a hint of haze. A throng of celebrities enjoyed the front row including singer Imelda May, Olympian Caroline Dubois and actress Emily Carey plus a small cohort from Made in Chelsea.

The collection was inspired by the Irish American designer’s time in New York during the 60’s and 70’s. Living on the Upper East Side, he loved the New York way of life, the sights, sounds and culture that New Yorkers embodied. He met Andy Warhol, who invited him to be in one of his films and experienced the decadence of Studio 54.

With London Fashion Week starting in 1984, Costelloe is the longest-standing fashion designer, with over 77 runway shows under his belt.

Of the 40 Years’ anniversary Paul said “It is such a privilege to be still part of London Fashion Week and to be able to express myself through material and form with my London based team. Thank you, London!”

He returned to the Royal Horticultural Halls’ Lindley Hall in Westminster for a second time, having shown his Spring Summer ‘24 collection in September last year.
