The new contemporary space features clean lines and sleek, neutral materials and colours. It is ideal for board meetings, round table discussions, small scale training sessions or interviews, and can also be used as a breakout space or green room for larger events.
The Wornum Room is available for both full day and half day hire from £265 +VAT, with a 25% discount applicable to charities. A DDR package is also available.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has also appointed Thomas Morgan as Head of Venues and Events Delivery.
In his new role, Thomas will lead and develop the venue and events teams across RIBA’s historic headquarters, 66 Portland Place in London. He will be responsible for increasing commercial contribution to the charity and activating new private hire event streams in order to hit the institution’s ambitious annual growth rates and targets.
Thomas brings with him significant experience in the events sector having previously spent 6.5 years at English National Opera, with the last 18 months as Head of Events. During his time at ENO, Thomas was tasked with achieving 6-figure targets by building a fresh portfolio of events, maximising revenues from private functions and events, as well as growing successful new programmes including the award-winning ENO TV, and overseeing large-scale and high-profile activities.
Since joining RIBA at 66 Portland Place, Thomas has been instrumental in the conception and delivery of new initiatives and activities including the venue’s recent Open House event - a half-day session attended by notable corporates and agents which was framed by topical discussions hosted by some of the industry’s respected voices.
Thomas Morgan, comments: “I am excited to be heading up the Venues and Events delivery departments at RIBA at 66 Portland Place. This breath-taking Art Deco masterpiece is an incredible setting for high-profile events with a strong client base. I am looking forward to working with the team to maximise the potential for commercial success, with new initiatives, programmes, and event opportunities, whilst raising even greater awareness of the capabilities of our heritage building within new sectors and markets.”
Thomas Morgan, also commented on the new meeting room: “It’s great to be able to add to our venue inventory at 66 Portland Place with this new purpose-built event space on our ground floor. The Wornum Room is fully accessible and features stunning double fronted windows that look out onto Portland Place and fill the space with natural light. Already we are seeing demand for the room as a breakout area or green room for larger events taking place at the venue, as well as a meeting space in its own right.”
