After a frustrating 2020 of Museum closures and exhibition rescheduling, we are very much looking forward to the Museum reopening this month on 19th May. The highly anticipated Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser explores the origins, adaptations, and reinventions of the beloved English classic over 157 years. This immersive and theatrical show charts the evolution of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland from manuscript to a global phenomenon beloved by all ages. Ever the exciting theme, we expect some colourful and zany events featuring this inspiring exhibition. The exhibition will run from May 2021 until December 2021.

Another highlight of our programme, the fascinating Epic Iran exhibition will explore 5,000 years of art, design and culture, Epic Iran shines a light on one of the greatest historic civilisations, its journey into the 21st century and its monumental artistic achievements, which remain unknown to many. The epitome of luxury and splendour, this exhibition is already proving to be very popular with clients. Epic Iran will run from May 2021 until September 2021.

In November, an exciting new exhibition Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution, will open its doors. This exhibition will explore master goldsmith, Carl Fabergé – whose internationally recognised firm symbolised Russian craftsmanship, luxury, and elegance – and the Anglo-Russian relationship which saw the opening of a London branch in 1903.

And finally, the chic Bags: Inside out exhibition has been extended until January 2022, giving die-hard fashionistas extra time to take in this fabulous show. From rucksacks to despatch boxes, Birkin bags to Louis Vuitton luggage, Bags: Inside Out explores the style, function, design and craftsmanship of the ultimate accessory.

Tickets for these exhibitions can be found online at https://www.vam.ac.uk/whatson. All of our blockbuster exhibitions are available to view Privately, away from the hustle and bustle of the daytime crowds, or to add to any event.

This year has taken its toll on us all, and on our beloved industry especially. But for events at the V&A there has been some silver-linings to this difficult year. Due to a postponement in the Friday late schedule, until this August 2021, we are able to offer venue hire on Friday nights!! Book now to avoid disappointment, as there are only a handful of Friday evenings available.

In addition to this, until March 2022, we will be offering daytime hire on Mondays and Tuesday. This once in a lifetime opportunity means that you can now hold an exclusive conference or team away day in our beautiful spaces, such as the stunning Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre and recently refurbished Morris and Gamble Rooms. Or perhaps you just need extra time to set up a spectacular event so wish to add a few hours onto your hire period to set up stress-free. Whatever the reason, take advantage of this limited offer by contacting the events team as soon as possible.
