White Light Further Progresses on Sustainability Journey by Joining isla

Thursday, June 1, 2023 - 09:30

As part of its continuous commitment to operating as a responsible business, technical solutions specialist White Light (WL) has joined isla – the events industry sustainability body.

Having also become a certified B Corporation (B Corp) earlier this year, the isla membership further adds to WL’s growing portfolio of socially and environmentally conscious partnerships and certifications. This also includes ISO 140001 accreditation, albert – the home of environmental sustainability for film + TV, and London Living Wage.

To mark the commencement of membership, WL delivered the full lighting, audio, video, and staging solutions for isla’s flagship event transform, held at the Nash Conservatory, Kew Gardens on Thursday 18th May.

transform debuted isla’s industry-defining temperature check report. It also provided an opportunity for isla members and stakeholders from the entire events ecosystem to network with peers, as well as to digest, debate and take direct action on insights on the current and future shape of the event sustainability landscape.

WL’s Senior Account Manager, Mark Sutcliffe says: “Joining isla is an exciting progression on our responsible business journey and will help us strive towards our commitment to achieving science-based Net Zero emissions by 2050. I’m personally really looking forward to working closely with isla, to gain a deeper understanding of their platforms and best practice frameworks. This will help us to deliver more sustainable events across our extensive portfolio of managed and approved venues, continuing our ongoing investment in sustainable solutions.”

Ellie Ashton-Melia, isla Community Lead, said: “We’re delighted to welcome White Light to isla’s growing membership community. Their commitment to sustainable practice and change through collaboration, as evidenced at transform, will only help to strengthen our mission to accelerate the events industry to a Net-Zero future.”
