Overall Purpose of the Job:
To be responsible for the sale and delivery of events at one of London’s most famous attractions. Leading a team of event sales executives in actively promoting and selling the venue through an effective sales and marketing strategy.
You will:
- Oversee the day to day operation of the sales team and the systems and processes by which quotations and sales pitches are undertaken.
- Liaise with the Head of Venue Sales Operations – CH&CO Venues to ensure approach is continually reviewed and developed to achieve best practice
- Manage the work and development of four venue Sales Executives
- Quote and secure profitable events for the venue
- Manage the venue’s marketing budget, track ROI for all spend
- Along with the General Manager, be the main venue client point of contact, prepare for and attend quarterly reviews with the team at ZSL

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and execute an effective sales strategy that measures return on investment
- To meet and always strive to exceed company and team targets and budgets agreed with Operations Director, Head of Venue Sales Operations and the General Manager – CH&CO Venues
- Manage, measure and drive the entire sales and coordination processes and sales team performance
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sales teams across venue portfolio and take on additional responsibilities and projects to aid development
- Establishing, maintaining and expanding event bookers database
- Report writing and attending quarterly client reviews
- Budget management
- To manage the development of the sales team through the implementation of structured development plans and regular reviews of objectives set
- Respond to under-performing sales team members effectively
- To demonstrate an excellent knowledge of F&B and ability to maximise this income stream through profitable sales
- Follow the procedures and processes in place for dealing with all enquires, deposits, terms and conditions and invoicing for each event
- Executing show rounds of venues to potential clients whenever possible
- Attend client events, promotions, trade exhibitions, client entertainment evenings and sales events as required
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience of leading an event sales team and managing events in a similar setting
- Proven track record of proactively generating new business
- Proven track record of implementing sales and marketing plans
- Commercially aware, experience with profit and loss analysis
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
