Unique Venues of London sponsors Rising Star Award

Earlier this month Unique Venues of London sponsored the Rising Star category at the 2014 Event Awards. The decision to sponsor reinforced the association’s on-going effort to ensure that talent is both fostered and nurtured within the MICE industry.

The Event Awards are the most coveted award scheme in the live events industry which celebrates the very best in experiential and creative. The Rising Star award focuses on an event professional under the age of 30 who has performed exceptionally in everything they do; essentially personifying the future of the events industry and representing a benchmark for others to aim to.

The competition for this year’s coveted title was hotly contested between individuals from Ashfield Meetings and Events, Ampersand, EMAP and Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce. The quality of the shortlist was highly impressive and offered a valuable indicator of future leaders in this sector.

Following an intense judging process, the panel felt that one candidate clearly stood-out in terms of the scale of their achievements: Chloe Martin, senior sales and events executive at Ampersand.

The judges felt that her fast rise from graduate trainee to senior sales executive in just three years coupled with a strong sales record gave her the winning-edge.

Commenting on the accolade, Unique Venues of London chair, Moya Maxwell said, “On behalf of Unique Venues of London I would like to congratulate Chloe on this prestigious and well-deserved award. Her progress and considerable achievements at such a young age are a shining example of what others just starting out in the sector should be aiming for. Sponsoring the Rising Star Award at this year’s Event Awards is just part of our commitment to securing the future of the UK events industry. Building on this, we will continue our focus on championing MICE as a rich and rewarding career path in 2015. There is so much talent out there; the challenge is to make sure we unlock it.”
