Built in 1847 The Roundhouse was originally known as the New Great Circular Engine House and many of its features are retained today giving the venue its Grade II* listing.
After years of renovations the Roundhouse re-opened in 2006 as a state-of-the-art event space complete with staging, in house PA, trusses, lighting, offices, box office, dressing rooms and brand-new foyer enabling its fully accessible status. Private parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs and performances returned with our first event in 2006!

The spectacular, neo-classical building offers 12 blank canvas, versatile event spaces, including indoor and outdoor spaces suitable for staging events of all styles and sizes - ranging in capacity from 10 to 1,500.Somerset House is ideally located, sitting between the River Thames and Covent Garden and is accessible via major transport links in the centre of the capital.
For receptions, gala dinners, award ceremonies, launches and Christmas parties, choose from the iconic main galleries accommodating 10-1,500 guests. The hall’s stunning glass-vaulted ceiling lets in an abundance of natural light and can be fully blacked out if required.
