Designed by revolutionary architect Inigo Jones, the Banqueting House is one of the most dazzling venues in London. The beauty and scale of this spectacular venue continues to inspire its guests, just as it did for the kings, queens and courtiers who have celebrated and banqueted here since 1622.
The Main Hall, with its grandeur and opulence, is a popular choice for a wide variety of events, from large dinners, film premiers, weddings and multi-day use. It can be used both during the day and late into the evening, and the central location makes it very accessible to guests.
With its cosy archways and snug corners, the Undercroft is as charming as the Main Hall is grand. Originally designed as a drinking den for James I and his favourite courtiers to escape the rigours of public life, this atmospheric venue is perfect for all sorts of occasions, from intimate dinners to distinctive receptions.
Capacity ranges from 350 for dinner to 500 for standing drinks receptions and it is licenced for civil ceremonies.
