Rich in history, yet designed for the needs of today, the RCP is housed in a magnificent grade 1 listed modern building overlooking leafy Regent's Park in the heart of London.
The impressive portfolio of purpose-designed facilities include: two auditoriums seating 300 and 140 respectively, meeting, dining and exhibition spaces, as well as a private Medicinal garden, ideal for summer events and al fresco dining. The facilities are further enhanced by rare treasures, artefacts and antiquarian books which contrast with the stylish modern and contemporary architecture, making this venue truly unique.
The building has an atmosphere of space and light; the Council Chamber with its unique domed roof, curved walls and hidden circle of skylights, is an ideal setting for meetings and presentations, whilst the Censors’ room which has a magnificent chandelier and Spanish Oak panelling dating from 1674 is an intimate setting for fine dining.
From the entrance of the building, the impressive split-level white Lasdun Hall is flanked on one side by two-story plate glass windows overlooking the RCP's medicinal garden and from where you can look up to the galleries above. The squared spiral of the flying staircase leads up to the grand Dorchester Library, which houses some of the RCP's collection of over 50,000 antiquarian books and is ideal for drinks receptions, wedding ceremonies, dinners and meetings, while the understated elegance of the Osler Room with its superb views over the Georgian Nash terraces and garden can accommodate up to 300 guests for receptions, buffets and dining for up to 300
