Shaftesbury Theatre

As the largest independent theatre in the West End, the Shaftesbury Theatre takes pride in being distinctive, open and original.

Since 1911, the Shaftesbury Theatre has consistently championed unheard voices whilst presenting bold and adventurous productions.

The Shaftesbury’s dramatic transformation programme has updated facilities for the 21st century, whilst maintaining the beauty and elegance of the original Edwardian building. Outside, a new landscaped open space, Princes Circus, created by the London Borough of Camden, provides a unique setting for West End theatre where audiences can gather and relax in the shadow of our historic building. Our recent changes to the building give better access for people with disabilities, enhance our foyer and bar areas, and create bespoke catering offerings; so our audiences and rental clients alike, can enjoy a polished and high quality experience.

A key part of London’s rich architectural splendour, The Shaftesbury Theatre’s auditorium can be hired for film shoots, conferences, and one-off theatre shows. Other spaces are also available for the daytime use, including castings, offsite days, seminars and workshops, product launches or meetings.
