Events Coordinator at the Banqueting House, Whitehall

The Banqueting House, designed by Inigo Jones with its spectacular Rubens' ceiling, is an iconic venue in the heart of Whitehall. Although it has had various uses throughout the ages, Banqueting House today plays host to some of the most spectacular events in the city as well as being a fascinating historic visitor attraction.

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Events Co-ordinator to support the Commercial Events Team at the Banqueting House on a full-time, fixed-term basis until September 2020.

Based at Banqueting House, Whitehall, you’ll report to the Senior Events Executive and your challenge will be to deliver high-quality administrative support to the Events team who are responsible for the development and delivery of the corporate and private hire business at the Banqueting House.

You’ll provide support and coordination to the Team by dealing with all written and verbal enquiries, including dealing with initial event enquiries, taking phone messages and booking show around appointments for the Events Executives. You will also support the Senior Event Executive with the planning and delivery of various promotional events which take place annually.

To succeed, you will need to be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for events, who is calm under pressure and has an efficient and diplomatic approach in dealing with our high volume of customer enquiries. You will have a flair for written communication and a good knowledge and understanding of the events industry. Well organised and customer-focused, you will have office based experience in a customer service environment. You will also possess excellent IT skills (including MS Word and Excel) be able to manage databases (Kinetix preferable) and maintain filing systems.

You will ideally have previous experience working in events and have a desire to develop a career within the industry. Applicants should have an innovative and creative approach to problem solving and should be well-organised and able to work independently as well as part of a high achieving team.

Please note that some evening, weekend and Bank holiday working will be required for this role.
