Responsible for: This role is responsible for managing event volunteers (with support from the Senior Volunteer Officer)
Salary: £18.75 per hour
Hours: Casual, as required.

About the role
Working as part of the Events & Programmes team, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth and effective running of events taking place in Crystal Palace Park, be they corporate, commercial, community or otherwise.
The role will oversee the safety, wellbeing and customer care of visitors and audiences, supervise volunteers, liaise with senior staff in the Events and Park Management teams and be a point of contact for visiting companies, hirers, producers and community groups.
Some evening and weekend work can be expected as many of our events take place outside of normal sociable hours. Peak periods will usually be during summer months.

Responsibilities:
Within this role you will play an integral part in the performance of Crystal Palace Park Trust in several core areas:
Operations & Events
Ensuring the safety and security of all staff, volunteers and visitors
Taking responsibility for key handling and taking part in authorised opening and closing procedures according to training and procedures
Being a friendly point of contact for Park users, event facilitators and commercial hirers
Ensure event set up, delivery and take down is conducted safely and in line with hire terms and conditions and site restrictions
Enforce Park’s rules relating to noise levels, ensuring that these do not rise above set levels at any time
Responding efficiently and competently to any incidents or operational issues as they arise, having an awareness of when to ask for additional support and reporting issues to the appropriate member of staff
Assisting with other reasonable duties associated with this role that may from time to time be required by the Events and Community
Programmes Team
Be a champion for a positive safeguarding culture in the park
Supervise and support Events Volunteers in their role ensuring they are valued and motivated.
Maintain a record and log of the event and report back on any incidents occurring.
These responsibilities are broad and cover a range of aspects of our work at Crystal Palace Park Trust.
This position requires a basic DBS check which may reveal any unspent convictions. A criminal record may not necessarily be a bar to employment, as any decision will be treated on its merits and individual circumstances subject to the Crystal Palace Park Trust’s obligations to protect the children, young people and adults at risk in its charge and members of the public.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A basic understanding of Premises Licenses
An understanding and commitment towards Safeguarding of Children, Young People and Adults at Risk
A desire to provide both visitors and clients an excellent experience, whilst maintaining the reputation of an historic Park in a residential area
Resilience
Experience of managing or supervising events, ideally in a public setting
Used to dealing with members of the public in a variety of situations
Ability to address issues and understanding of when to escalate
A good attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of an event are fully considered
Physically capable of fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of the post which may include standing for long periods of time
