March 2026
The National Portrait Gallery hosted its seventh Portrait Gala on Tuesday, 17th March. Guests were invited to enjoy a cocktail and sparkling reception, followed by a decadent three course dinner and capped off with an exclusive after-dinner reception with musical performance and dancing! Throughout the gallery, Lavender Green transformed the space with contemporary floral compositions, carefully curated in the event’s colour palette of burgundy and cyan.

As guests arrived for the evening, they were met with two tall columns flanking the artist frame, designed using an abundance of seasonal foliage’s, textured cut grasses and plants along with florals in the Gala colour palette. These two designs created a lush backdrop against the step and repeat inviting guests for the perfect photo opportunity.

To bring the colour palette to life across the reception areas, Lavender Green selected a mix of Fritillaria, Calla Lilies, Tulips, Carnations, and Cymbidium orchids in rich burgundy, accented with cool blue tones from Thistle and Delphinium. Layers of textured grasses and foliage were woven throughout the designs, adding depth and movement while creating striking, sculptural arrangements.

As guests ascended to the second and third floor galleries for dinner, they are met with a graceful shift in palette - a tonal evolution into shades of pink. From soft blush to deeper hues, the arrangements were punctuated with deep burgundy and plum, elegantly tying back to the Gala’s core colours. Table centres featured an abundance of spring blooms, including Fritillaria, Carnations, Ranunculus, Roses, Hellebores, and Tulips.
