While dinosaurs triumphed on land and pterosaurs ruled the skies, fearsome marine reptiles dominated the oceans. These ferocious giants were highly adapted predators that feasted on scores of underwater creatures, from intricate ammonites to giant fish – and even each other.

Exploring the oceans of 200 million years ago, come face-to-face with these monsters of the deep. Get a little too close for comfort to a mosasaur tooth, touch a cast of a Baryonyx claw and see how you measure up next to a complete plesiosaur.

Experience the astonishing diversity of life in the Jurassic oceans and meet those that acted as dinner for monstrous marine creatures. Dive into their world through captivating film, cutting-edge science from the Museum’s world-leading palaeontologists and fossils and casts that you can touch. As these predators got bigger and bigger, see how they played an important role in keeping the oceans healthy, just like sharks and whales do today.

Private views of the exhibition can be available as part of the Museum’s venue hire packages, along with an array of other options to visit including out-of-hours tours and an after-hours evening view accompanied by a family friendly Dino Disco.
