The WWT London Wetland Centre is the best urban site in Europe to watch wildlife and an international award winning attraction. One of nine UK wetland centres managed by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, this 42 hectare reserve is an example of sustainable development on a grand scale. Four disused concrete reservoirs were transformed through careful landscaping and recycling of materials into a haven for wildlife and people, which opened to the public in May 2000.
